Love Bites 9.1/10

A.N: This is only half a chapter cause that is all i can give you for now. I'm having a serious writers block and I'm about to die writing the last one and a half chapters. Thought I should give you something to wait with until I'm done properly with this chapter. Thank you for being so patient. I LOVE YOU GUYS.

“So what you mean, is that you lost him in his own apartment?” Jiyong’s voice low with barely contained rage. Chaerin could only him a single now, not trusting herself to say anything for the fear that she might set Jiyong off. She had not seen him like this since Jina. She wanted to say sorry, that she was careless and selfish but when she opened her mouth to speak, she felt a hand on her shoulder. Turning around to see Bom sullen and shaking her head, signalling Chaerin that now was not the right time. The rest of them stood around the room quietly, no one moved or made a sound when Jiyong suddenly stood up, his fists clenched at his sides.

“We’re gonna find them and kill those fucking bastards.”

-

His body was aching in places he didn’t know existed. He was blinking but he could not see anything. Nothing, to hint at where he might be.

Seungri shuddered, there was something terribly wrong about the whole situation. There was something wrong about his sore wrists and the fact that his feet could not touch the ground.

His ears twitched, hearing something that might help telling him where he was. Footsteps, approaching him. But it only added on to the list that was terribly wrong. It was as if the feet barely touched the ground and a dark presence was slowly heading towards him. Seungri’s body stiffened when the familiar smell of the alley invaded this nose. The smell of decay and disease.

“You’re awake.” The voice made his blood run cold. It was the same vampire from the alley that tried to hurt him, and this time, he had no where to run.

Seungri parted his lips to give her a smart mouthed comment and found out that he lost his voice. Just how long was he knocked out for?

His skin crawled when he felt her touching him.

“You humiliated me, boy.” Wincing as she clawed down his arms that were bought together from the ceiling by what he assumed were chains by the way it rattled while he struggled against it. “Now it’s time for you to pay.”

Seungri braced himself for the blow that never came. Instead, he heard someone’s body slammed up against the wall, followed by the sickening sound of bones breaking. Before he registered what was happening, his blindfold was taken off and he was staring into blood red eyes.

“You must be the little human that Jiyong got himself involved in.” A smirk showed off his sharp fangs. “I’m Junhyung, the reason why you’re here today.”

Seungri tried to figure out who he was but nothing came to his head. He scanned the room to look for a way out when he saw a bloody heap at the corner of the room. He turned his head away from the bloody sight.

Junhyung turned his head slightly to see what Seungri was looking at and released a low chuckle. “Don’t mind Sori, she’s used to it. It’ll teach her a lesson or two about failing me.”

Seungri furrowed his eyebrows, these vampires were entirely different from the ones that he had gotten to know so well. They seemed do violent and cold blooded. It was as if no one else matters but themselves.

Junhyung opened his mouth his mouth to say something but was interrupted by another vampire. He took a deep breath to calm himself down, it was obvious that the hated being interrupted. “What is it Nickhun?”

The one named Nickhun bowed his head low before speaking. “He got the message.” And he promptly left, but not before dragging Sori out from there.

A slow smile crept up Junhyung’s face that made Seungri want to curl up into a ball and hide for a few decades. His eyes widened when the vampire pulled out a dagger and trailed it down Seungri’s arm, drawing blood. The vampire took a huge breath, inhaling the scent of his blood. Virgin blood.

“He’ll come won’t he?” Junhyung said, twirling the dagger in his fingers, black blood dripping all over the edges and all over the hilt.
Seungri could only whimper in response, praying to whatever god there is out there that Jiyong wouldn’t come save him. But who was he kidding? Of course Jiyong would have to come and save him! He would come in like a knight in shining armour and kick the creepy vampire’s ass all the way to the sun where he can burn for all eternity while he and Jiyong can live happily ever after. So he redirected his prayers to make Jiyong stronger and save him like a good boyfriend should.

Junhyung watched Seungri in the midst of his prayers and laughed to himself. “I’m trying to be patient here, but your fear makes you smell so mouth watering.”

Junhyung raised his dagger, the blade gleaming in the light and made Seungri squeeze his eyes shut, bracing  for the moment where he will see his maker, as well as his parents.

“Don’t you fucking touch him!” A faraway voice cried out. Seungri opened his eyes and beamed, it was Jiyong. “I’m here, it’s over. Leave him alone!”

Junhyung clucked his tongue in disapproval and flung his dagger at the blonde vampire, striking him in the shoulder. “Do you think it’s fair to let him live without his mate? I once had a heart too you know?” Jiyong keened, whether it was in pain or from how ridiculous Junhyung’s words sounded, he couldn’t distinguish.

“Besides,” Junhyung shrugged, wiping Seungri’s blood on his coat. “It’s been quite a while since I had a feed. Virgin blood always does the trick.”

The thought of it made Jiyong’s blood boil and launched himself at Junhyung but the latter was too fast for him, taking Jiyong’s arm in his hand and slamming his body to the ground.

“It’s you.” Jiyong growled, a shadow of familiarity cloaking up his subconscious as he looked into those eyes, back to that day long ago.

“You made me like this!” He hissed, the venom that he’d saved up for more than a century building up in his vocal chords. “Then you killed Jina.”

Junhyung smiled eerily, the hold he had on Jiyong’s bicep tightening as he forced him harder to the ground. “Well, well. Quite a memory you got there. I’m surprised you didn’t realise it earlier.”

Jiyong winced, hiding it by the hatred he let out on his lower lip. “This is the first time i managed to look at your fucking face, couldn’t quite analyze it while you were sucking me dry.”

Junhyung laughed, raising Jiyong inches off the ground with just one hand, then slamming him against the brick wall a few feet away. “You know, i still don’t know how you didn’t die.” He said, laughter absent and replaced with a scowl. “How the fuck did you survive? I didn’t want you to live either way.”

“You tell me.” Jiyong smirked, which only angered Junhyung further so as to throw him on the ground again.

“Well I’ll tell you something you little shit." Junhyung said, eyes glowing red and sending shivers up Jiyong’s spine- he could never forget that day.

“I watched you, back when you were a mere mortal and something inside me wanted to get rid of you, snap you like a twig, draining your life out of you until you were nothing but road kill.”

Jiyong swiftly got to his feet, jaw set for anything Junhyung had up his sleeve, hiding his surprise and disgust behind his pride. He didn’t dare falter, and he subtly realise what his old girlfriend’s fate had been.

“I aimed and i did manage to kill you.” He growled. “But there was something about you, something that made me back off and run. I couldn’t feed for days and I could not find a fucking answer why this happened!”

“Did you think that I wanted to kill off your mate because I hated her?” Jiyong’s eyes widened and his hands began to tremble. “Fuck, I killed her to torture you with your stupid emotional breakdown.” Junhyung laughing, seeing his face contort at his own ignorance. His sorrow painted all over his pretty features, his dead heart bleeding with realization reflecting in his obsidian eyes.
Jiyong gulped, and Junhyung pressed a thumb over his Adam’s apple to prevent it. “I’ve been watching. I’ve been watching your every move, and I know that you can’t live without that human.”

Junhyung took a deep breath, his head tilting back as if he was sniffing out something delicious and heartbreakingly pleasurable. “That wonderful virgin boy that you’ve been hanging around with, how can you not drain him dry?”

The finger on his throat burning and suffocating, and with one hand, he ripped Junhyung’s clamp on his throat and punched him in the face. “I have self control, you jealous of that?”

Junhyung loudly cracked his neck back into place as a thick silence fell between them and Jiyong added the pieces in his head. “Are you sure you weren’t just jealous of a human?”

Junhyung’s jaw twitched and Jiyong couldn’t help but smirk. “You wanted everything I had, but everything fucked up for you and here you are, bitter and miserable.” Jiyong licked his lips and he knew that he was asking for it. “Now that I’m a vampire, you’re stuck with me forever.”

He didn’t have time to defend himself as Junhyung grabbed him by the neck and pushed him into the opposite wall, the impact resonating in every single bone in his body. Damn their vices for feeding. He felt so weak.

“You’re right about everything.” Junhyung said with a smirk. “Except that, forever ends here. Ends now.”

“Try me.” Jiyong said boldly, and if still had a beating heart, it would probably be somewhere at his throat right now. He might have the guts, but the Northerns were known for their immense strength.

There were flowers and butterflies decorating the already beautiful garden. There was even a slight drizzle under the sun, creating a soft rainbow around him. To sum it up, it was paradise. With the birds chirping and the warm sun on this face. When was the last time he felt like this? Too long for him to remember? Or maybe he had never felt this way before.

He ventured deeper into the garden, as if he was looking for something important. But what was he looking for? Suddenly feeling the sense of urgency, the need to find that missing link that seemed to pop out of nowhere. And then grass seemed to grow a little taller, trees seemed to merge together to form a wall. One tree after another, after another, after another. It felt slightly claustrophobic, the way everything closed in on him. If there wasn’t a way out then the only way was in. As he tried finding his way around, he remembered something about mazes – keep going left. If one direction led him to the centre, the other would most definitely lead him out. If this was a maze to begin with.

The chirping birds seemed to have quietened down, the light drizzle became heavier and heavier until fat droplets of rain slapped him in the face. Soon, it became a heavy downpour, the rain beating down on him and blurring his vision. He had no choice but to use his hands to feel around for things to guide him around, finally trailing against the leafy walls of the maze that came out the air. The downpour stopped all of a sudden and his vision cleared, must have been a passing shower even though the dark clouds continued to loom overhead. He tried to wring his hands dry from touching all the foliage earlier to guide him but he saw something that stopped him dead in his tracks. Blood. The sight of it made his skin grow cold, his fingers clammy and palms sweaty, his heart hammering in his chest. He had to get out of here soon, something was really wrong with this place.

Left, he kept telling himself to go left. And he was right, it was not ling before he reached the centre of the maze, where he saw a body lying there, as clear and bright as the day. Laying there, broken and unmoving, blood pooling around him like a puddle after the rain. He wanted to look away but an invisible force prevented him from turning his head. It was probably the same invisible force that put his foot one before the other, moving his body towards the inanimate person who was most likely dead. Dread filled him like ice water on a winter day. His eyes widened in shock when he saw who was lying on the ground, his breath shallow and blood flowing freely from the wound. This cannot be happening.

Seungri woke with a start, reaching out to make sure that Jiyong was still lying next to him. But all he felt was cold, empty sheets. He shot up, wondering where his over would be. Turning around, only to see Jiyong on the other side of the bed. Letting out a breath he didn’t know he was holding, and snuggled deeper into the covers, holding Jiyong just a little bit tighter. The vampire was asleep, dead to the world. Something that was a normal occurrence when the sun rises. The older vampire, or the more powerful you are, the earlier you rise. And if the vampire fed on virgin blood, he too, will also awake earlier. Seungri wasn’t exactly sure when Jiyong would wake up, but he was in no rush. He wanted to watch Jiyong as he slept, the insecurities he had about their relationship the night before slipped away from his pale face. With his blonde hair and light skin, he really did look like a fallen angel. He was simply too beautiful not to be one. What wouldn’t he give to protect him? Despite his lack of supernatural abilities, he still wanted to do everything he could to keep Jiyong with him. What wouldn’t anyone give to protect the one they love? The dream felt too real to be just a nightmare. Maybe he should tell someone about it, so that they could do something to ensure the safety of his lover. The image of Jiyong lying there, all bloody and unmoving was imprinted in his mind. There was no way he could erase it now.

He held Jiyong closer, burying his face in the vampire’s chest, breathing in his scent. He was never going to let him go. No matter what. Even if it killed him. Who cares if he was being selfish? He sure as hell didn’t.

-

A loud clanging sound woke Seungri up for the second time in a day. Groaning inwardly, he’ll never get used to waking up like this. Looking out the window, he saw that the sun had already gone down, leaving the sky dark and cool. It seemed like a peaceful evening but what was the loud noises coming from? He quickly got out of bed to investigate the commotion.

The moment he left his room, Seungri’s nose was assaulted with heavy smoke, like something was burnt. Which meant that Seunghyun was here. But the question was, why? And if Seunghyun was here, that meant that Daesung was here as well. But why? As he walked towards the origins of the noise, he realised that it wasn’t cigarette smoke that he was inhaling. Something was seriously burning. What were they trying to do? Leave him homeless? Was this some kind of plan to get him to shift to that castle they were staying in?

“Hello Seungri.” Daesung greeted him from the kitchen, black smoke rising from the oven that Jiyong had recently installed. Seungri wasn’t sure what for, since he barely cooked.

“He wanted to try baking, but he couldn’t do it at home.” Seunghyun’s voice interrupted hist rain of though.

“Why not?”

“Bom.” The both of them spoke in unison. It was all the explanation Seungri needed. One would never attempt to cook in her kitchen without her hovering around you, afraid that you might set her precious kitchen on fire. Which was precisely what Daesung was doing at the moment. Letting out a resonated sigh, Seungri went to wash up before going into the warzone to helo Daesung. Two heads were better than one right?

Whoever said that two heads were better than one should have been kicked in the balls a thousand times over. After three failed attempts of baking a cake, Daesung decided that it would have been better to bake cookies instead- cookies that could be used as weapons. Seungri finally knew why Bom was the only one allowed in the kitchen.

Daesung tried to put up a brave front but Seungri knew, that deep down. He was a little disappointed. He sat wordlessly on the couch as Seunghyun wrapped his arms around Daesung, in a attempt to make to make his mate feel a little better.

Seungri felt a pang of jealousy deep in his gut. Where the hell was Jiyong? It was unlike the vampire to leave him alone like that. As if noticing the sullen mood, Daesung gave Seungri one of his famous megawatt smiles. “Let’s just order junk food and pig out and some stupid comedy where we laugh until our stomach hurts!”

It sounded like a brilliant idea, so Seungri offered to call for take out while Daesung went to the 24-hour shop nearby to get some movies. It was a simple suggestion but it made Seungri happy nonetheless. It was not often that he had the privilege to do this before he met Jiyong. He was too poor to even feed himself, let alone order take out. But even though Jiyong wasn’t here, he was spending time with people he genuinely liked. People weren’t wrong when they said that it was the simple that mattered.

The food arrived shortly after Daesung returned. Seungri wanted to pay for it but Seunghyun beat him to it, taking out a thick wad of cash from his pocket and paying the delivery boy with more money than he could count, telling the boy to keep the change. The delivery boy couldn’t believe his luck, thanking the three of them profusely before leaving.

“Show off,” Daesung muttered under his breath as he set the table. Being a eternity long member of the living dead, Seunghyun heard him loud and clear. Leaning towards his mate, he whispered something into his ear, causing Daesung to blush furiously. This was one of the times Seungri was thankful that he didn’t have a vampire’s sense of hearing. He didn’t want to know the reason for Daesung’s scarlet face. So he sat down quietly, watching the movie that Daesung bought for them and feeling contented, occasionally wishing that Jiyong was here. Seungri wasn’t sure if it was during the second or third movie when the sun was high in the sky and he finally fell asleep.

-

You know the moment where you’re not exactly sure if you’re awake or in dreamland? Yeah, that was where Seungri was right now. He knew that he shouldn’t have let Seunghyun watch Inception, now he was mind fucked. He was pretty sure that he was about to go back to sleep when he overheard someone that sounded like Chaerin.

“You can’t ice cream, you know that we can’t leave the brat alone. Jiyong’s orders!” He could almost hear Dara pouting.

“But he’s asleep! And the store’s just downstairs!”

Jiyong’s orders? What the hell was that about? Seungri was most definitely awake now that his mind went into overdrive. Why was Chaerin and Dara here in the first place? Come to think of it, it was weird having Daesung and Seunghyun in his home all of a sudden. What’s next? Taeyang and Bom coming over to redecorate?

“Fine!” Chaerin interrupted Seungri’s thoughts. “Just ice cream. We can’t be gone for too long.

Dara squealed and did something that made one of them moan, something that Seungri was not interested in finding out.

He listened intently, hoping that they’ll leave soon so that he can have peace and quiet to think. Which the click of his door, they were out of his house and once again, he was alone. Being alone did him no good though, he was seething inside. Who the fuck did Jiyong think he was? Sending people to watch over him like that? He had to get out. His own home suddenly felt like a prison and he couldn’t stand staying there a minute longer. It felt like the walls were closing in on him, suffocating him. Seungri quickly got changed and left, je just didn’t want to be home anymore.

-

He had no idea where the bus was taking him. It was not as if he card anyway. All he wanted was to get away. All he wanted to do was get away. Who the hell did Jiyong think he was? Sending people to protecting him as if he was a fragile antique vase? It was absurd! How old did Jiyong think he was? Two? Okay, maybe compared to his ripe old age of almost two hundred years, we was two. But still, it made no sense that Jiyong did something this stupid despite their fight a couple of days ago. Seungri let out an angry huff. The nerve of that albino vampire.

Watching the scenery pass by, Seungri tried his best to calm down. Maybe Jiyong had his reason. Especially since that crazy female vampire attacked him the other day. Hot, but absolutely insane. But that’s beside the point. What was the point anyway? Oh yeah, being mad a Jiyong for being such an overprotective pain in the ass. But was Seungri being too harsh? Maybe he should forgive Jiyong just this once. Talk it out with him in an incredibly reasonably manner and he would probably come to his senses. One of them had to be an adult and Seungri felt that he fitting the role of the logical partner better. Jiyong was like a two hundred year old child. So he decided that he would get off the bus and catch another one in the opposite direction.

Reaching out to press the bell, he waited for the bus to come to a halt at the next available bus stop. But the bus kept going on, as it passed one stop after another, after another. Seungri kept pressing the bell, trying to alert the driver that he missed a stop, or three. Looking around for someone to help him, it was then he realised that the bus was empty. He was the only one on board.

Panic and bile started to rise up his throat. How could he be so stupid? Coming out of the house unattended and so emotional that he was unaware of what was going on around him. This was exactly what Jiyong was afraid of. He was so dead if Jiyong found out. He had to escape and he had to do it fast. And the only was out was through the glass windows. Seungri was prepared to throw himself out the bus through the transparent barrier when the bus came to a stop, in the middle of nowhere. He visibly gulped, this throat going dry from fear. Despite that, he gathered up his courage and walked towards the driver’s seat, searching for the button hat opened the automated door. Unsurprisingly, the diver was nowhere to be seen.

Walking out into the dark when the door finally opened, Seungri straightened in a feeble attempt to look more intimidating instead of looking like fresh meat. He was pretty sure that he smelled like one. He walked down the man made road hoping that it’ll lead him to somewhere where there were humans and electricity around. As he walked on, a familiar smell invaded his senses and sent child down his spine, causing the hair on the back of this neck to stand on attention. Blood.

His instincts told him to run, but his feet wouldn’t move. He was so dead. Why did he leave the apartment in the first place? Why did he have to be the childish one and leave in a fit of anger?

“So you’re the virgin that the insect is so interested in.” Holy hell, where did the voice come from? It sounded like it came from nowhere and everywhere at the same time. “You’re perfect.”

The vampire smiled and Seungri saw his gleaming white fangs tainted with blood before everything went black.

And he haven’t even told Jiyong how much he loved him yet.

A/N:  Because one loyal reader reminded me, I had this done in record time! THANK YOU!

In his two years in university since his parents’ death, Seungri has never felt this light. In the past week, he woke up on time for school, went for dance practice and quit his job. Yes, he quit his only source of income under the persistence of Jiyong, who repeatedly told him that if he kept taking on so many responsibilities at once, he’ll be overburdened. It took Seungri a while to take his advice. He didn’t like to feel like a liability to Jiyong who has been nothing but patient and kind. But the vampire kept reassuring him that he has all eternity to work if he wanted to. After listening to Jiyong nag continuously for days, he finally relented and left his job. At first, Seungri was afraid that he would have too much time on his hands once he left his job but thankfully, Jiyong had taken up most of his free time.

When Jiyong did not bring back a new piece of furniture to assemble, he would sit with Seungri just to watch him do his assignments. Thankfully, today his classes finished early and Seungri rushed home, certain that Jiyong was home improving on his living conditions.
As the days passed by in the past week, the apartment was beginning to look more like a home. With new furnishings and wardrobe, as well as a bed that could fit the both of them. Unlike the flimsy mattress that he had been using the past couple of years. Seungri felt blessed, and more importantly, he felt like he belonged somewhere.

Seungri opened the door to his apartment and found his beloved vampire fixing up what looks to be a study table, frowning when Jiyong paid him no attention, knowing that the vampire heard him from miles away. So why is it that his lover was ignoring him? Annoyed, Seungri decided to hover around him, in an attempt to make Jiyong notice him.

Letting out a breath of relief, he looked at his finished product with pride. Daesung had sent the unassembled study table while Seungri was still in school as a favour since Jiyong could not go out in the daylight. He moved to carry the table to the spare room with almost no effort, looking really pleased with himself. The spare room had been transformed wonderfully into a study with book-filled shelves and now, there was a table for Seungri to work on. Talking about Seungri, where on earth was that boy? He was briefly aware that he came home while he was piecing the furniture together. He decided to look around the house, maybe he was occupied with something at the moment.

It didn’t take long for Seungri to be found, asleep in his new bed. A smile crept up Jiyong’s face as he looked at his sleeping form. He looked like an angel begging to be ravished. No, Jiyong had to remind himself that he must be patient with the boy. Besides, he has an eternity for his carnal urges. Slowly, he crept under the covers, pulling Seungri against him. It didn’t matter if he was condemned to hell because at this moment, this was heaven. Smiling to himself when he heard Seungri wake up but pretended to continue sleeping anyway. Fine, if he wanted to pretend, Jiyong would take full advantage of it. He nuzzled closer to Seungri, breathing in his scent, like his blood was calling out to Jiyong. Baring his fang, he sank them into Seungri’s supple skin. He felt his lover tense at the pain before relaxing his body against him. Jiyong’s eyes rolled to the back of his head as he drank, the pure liquid pleasure flowing through his veins and giving him life, snapping out of his trance when Seungri let out a moan. Jiyong carefully drew away, slowly licking up blood that tainted Seungri’s skin. He should stop before he did more than just cleaning up.

“What time did you come home?” Jiyong tried to distract himself.

“Hmmm?” Seungri’s voice still laced with sleep. “Around noon? But the table seemed more important.”

Feeling apologetic, he held Seungri a little bit closer. “Sorry, i got a little engrossed.”

Seungri sighed, “You don’t have to do this you know? I can take care of myself.”

“I know,” the vampire replied. “But I enjoy taking care of you. You’ve been taking care of yourself for so long without anyone by your side. I understand if you’re not used to it. But soon, you’ll think that all the attention and gifts that I lavish on you are perfectly normal.”

Seungri rolled his eyes. It depends on how the vampire defined normal. He just had to fall in love with an arrogant one at that.

“By the way,” Jiyong added. “Bom wanted you to come over for dinner later.”

-

The alarm would not stop ringing and Seungri was desperate to find it. The shrill sound was grating his nerves bit by little bit. He was tired. Too tired to even breathe. Dinner last night was a feast as usual, but the only thing that made him wish that he didn’t have to go was Dara, who insisted on a game of catch. A game that lasted for three hours before Seungri was an inch away from passing out.

He finally found that blasted clock and dragged his ass to the bathroom for a shower. The hot water slowly driving the aches in his muscles. With a groan, he got changed for school, barely remembering that he had dance practice after that. Seungri hurriedly packed his bag for school and grabbed an energy bar or three before leaving the apartment.

It was after practice when Seungri found himself walking back home. Partly because he missed the bus, and partly because he wanted to save money to buy Jiyong something. All he had to do was to wait for a few more days before he could collect his pay check from his previous job. With the thought of the gift in his mind, he turned into the shortcut to his house. But as he walked deeper into the alley, he felt that something was not right. Not a single soul was seen. Which was weird, considering that beggars or buskers would take refuge in the alley when it got cold or that it was a bad night to perform. Never once was the place as quiet as the dead. Talking about death, the pungent smell of blood and other rotten things which he could not even begin to mention invaded his senses and he felt like throwing up his dinner from the previous day.

“Disgusting isn’t it?” A female voice shocked him out of his reverie. “The smell of poverty and disease.”

Seungri turned around to the source of the chilling voice. His breath was caught at the base of this throat when he saw her. She was beautiful. The kind of beauty that drew you in and you’ll never want to look away. Like you could stare at her forever and ever.

“Are you alone?” She asked, raising a perfectly arched brow.

“Erm, yeah.” Seungri never found himself in a situation like this. Was this considered cheating in anyone’s books? “I better get going.”

“You should,” she inhaled deeply as she spoke. “But you smell so delicious.”

Warning bells set off in Seungri’s head and he suddenly remembered how vampires are more visually attractive to attract prey. He really needed to get out of here soon. Turning around in an attempt to get away, he found her there. Anticipating his move and stalking towards him, with her fangs bare. Ready to pounce on him if need be.

“I was not supposed to hurt you.” Her voice was as soothing as chimes in the wind. “But I’m so hungry and you smell so good. These beggars are nothing compared to a virgin’s blood.”

Seungri was backed up against the wall, with no way to run. He was on the way to becoming Jiyong’s mate for goodness’ sake! He could not die now!

Looking around for something that might give him a small chance of survival. From the corner of his eye, he found a broken pipe. Maybe that would be enough to give him good few seconds to get a head start.

It all happened in a split second. The vampire attacked him like a starved lion and he was the gazelle. He curled up into a ball and rolled away, picking up the broken pipe to defend himself.

The vampire, so distracted by her blood lust that she didn’t notice the weapon in his hand, impaled herself with the sharp rusty piece of metal. Seungri saw his chance and ran out of the alley to surround himself with as many people as he could.

Adrenaline still rushing through his veins, and questions racing through his head. How was it possible that he could out move her? Was it one of the effects of the blood exchange? Or was it that he was so freaked out by her that the adrenaline became super effective?
Remembering the emptiness of her eyes, he was going to have nightmares for a long time.

He had no idea how long it was since he left the alley. He just kept on walking. As long as there were crowds, he was safe. There would be less chances of the wretched vampire attacking him in front of so many people. So Seungri walked, with no destination in mind. He wasn’t even sure if it was safe to go him. What if she healed and followed him home only to have a feast on his virgin blood? He needed to fix that soon.

“Seungri?” He nearly jumped out of his skin from fright. He turned around carefully to see who was calling him, and his whole body relaxed with relief when he saw that it was Taeyang with Bom by his side. “Are you alright?”

It took Seungri awhile to find his voice. “Yeah, just ran into some gangsters.”

Taeyang could tell that the boy was lying, his nervousness was radiating off him like a beacon of light but he said nothing about it. “Let us take you home.”

“Yeah, thanks.” Seungri was too tired and too scared to argue or refuse. He just wanted to go home.

“What’s wrong?” Bom asked when Seungri got in the car with them.

“Nothing.” He wasn’t even sure if he answered her out loud. If Bom heard his answer or not, he wasn’t really sure, nor did she say anything else. The ride home was silent but at least he was safe.

He was hope within minutes. Muttering a quick word thank to Taeyang and Bom, he ran up the stairs and locked himself in his own apartment.

I’m safe, I’m safe. A silent mantra he kept repeating in his head. I’m safe. Sliding to the floor when his legs could not support him anymore. Seungri was sure that he was going to pass out when a blur of white flashed past his eyes. Was this the light at the end of the tunnel? What happened to watching your whole life pass by before you die? Oh wait, it was just Jiyong. Anxious and urgent.

“What happened?” Seungri heard Jiyong’s voice, tight with concern. “And don’t tell me nothing, I can smell your fear a mile away.

“I just ran into trouble on the way home. That’s all. “ Seungri mumbled.

“What kind of trouble?” The vampire pressed on for more information.

Even though Seungri mumbled a barely audible vampire under his breath, Jiyong heard it loud and clear. Realization hit him harder than a thousand tonne train. The other was now after him.

“You’re not safe.” The blonde vampire was talking to himself, forgetting for a moment that his soon to be mate was just there. “I should never have gotten close to you. You’re gonna end up like Jina.”

Seungri’s fear changed into anger in an instant. End up like Jina? Was that dead bastard serious?

“They’re gonna come after you and kill you like they did her. I should never have come back here. I should ne-“ Jiyong rant was stopped with a resounding slap to his cheek.

“Do you even hear yourself right now? Jina, Jina and even more Jina! Look at me? Do I even look like her? Or is she all you can ever think about?” Jiyong’s head hung in shame. Seungri was right, he shouldn’t compare Seungri to Jina at every instance. Who was he trying to convince? Himself? That this will not work out?

Seungri cradled Jiyong’s face in his hands, forcing the latter to look at him. “Look at me, I don’t look like her. Heck, I don’t even have the same anatomy as her!” A smile crept up Jiyong’s face when he listened to Seungri’s aggravated tirade. He was definitely different. Jina was never this feisty, except in bed, but that was not the point. Not the point at all.

He went on and on about being compared and how he felt about it, riding on the second wave of adrenaline for the night. He was sick of Jiyong’s unfounded insecurities.

“I’m sorry.” What? Seungri turned and looked at Jiyong who clearly did not look sorry at all. “You’re not her. I can see it very clearly now.”

Was he being made fun of now? Because if he was, he had a lot to say about that, but he bit his tongue when Jiyong came and pulled Seungri against him.

“I just need you to be careful alright? You have no idea what those vampires can do.”

“Look who’s talking.” Seungri muttered into Jiyong’s shirt.

“Exactly.” Huh? Seungri wondered what the vampire meant when he felt a familiar sting piercing through his skin.

Oh.
